Quotations
Once we have provided you with a quotation in relation to your chosen vehicle, please ensure that you check this to confirm you are satisfied with the vehicle itself, the finance product and any associated fees. The explanations below may help you in fully understanding the quotation provided:
Vehicle : This details the manufacturer, model, version and engine type of the vehicle you have selected. You may, for example, wish to satisfy yourself that the particular engine or fuel type you have selected is suitable for your intended use.
For example, Diesel engines may not be suitable for predominantly short journey use due to the characteristics of the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) used in such engines, therefore it is important that you check the type of particulate filter on any diesel car with an urban drive-cycle and make sure it's suitable, otherwise consider a different fuel type or vehicle technology.
The vehicle handbook will have specific guidance for the vehicle. If traffic conditions and speed limits do not allow the vehicle to be driven so that the filter regenerates, it must be returned to a dealer for a forced regeneration to clear the filter. If the warning light is ignored and the vehicle is driven without regenerating the filter, it will cause damage to the vehicle, which will not be covered by warranty or our maintenance agreement. We are aware of customers in the UK who have incurred costs in the region of £1,000 to £1,500 after a driver has failed to follow the correct regeneration process. Further information is available on vehicle manufacturer websites.
View our article here for more information about Fuel Type Suitability
Pre-registered vehicles : We often supply vehicles that have already registered as part of a bulk deal, these vehicles will be supplied the remainder of the manufacturer warranty and breakdown cover from the date that the vehicle was first registered. In addition, the service schedule and three-year MOT period will have been activated.
Annual mileage: This details the mileage limitation on your chosen contract, this should be based on the number of miles you anticipate covering.
Term: This means the length of the contract, e.g. 36 months.
Initial rental: This means an advanced payment which covers the first specified monthly payments under the agreement. Your initial rental could represent, for example 3, 6 or 9 monthly payments. This is not a deposit and will not be refunded at the end of the contract.
Monthly rentals: This means the amount you pay each month for use of the vehicle. Personal contract hire agreements include VAT at the prevailing rate in place at the time.
Total rental: This means the total amount you will pay each month when all costs are considered. This will include any optional extra such as maintenance costs.
Maintenance: It is your responsibility to maintain the vehicle in accordance to the Manufacturer's guidelines. Failure to do so could invalidate the warranty and occur costs at the end of the contract. Unless specified, all agreements are customer maintained. Subject to the agreement type, we can offer optional maintenance contracts to help spread the cost of maintaining your vehicle over the term of your agreement, please ask for more details. If selected, we will show the cost of any maintenance package which forms part of your agreement. These packages can range from a service only pack, to an all-inclusive agreement that covers all routine servicing, wear and tear maintenance and replacement tyres.
Road Tax/Vehicle Excise Duty (VED): Most of our vehicles include road tax coverage for the length of the agreement, we will provide you with advice in relation to this during your application. On certain agreements, the road tax will be charged annually and collected by direct debit.
Excess mileage: This refers to the costs you will incur if you exceed the agreed mileage limitations under the agreement. Costs are expressed in pence per mile. Certain finance companies have tiered rate, on certain agreements your annual mileage can be reviewed to help avoid these costs.
Delivery Dates: We will provide you with the most accurate information possible regarding the anticipated timescales for delivery of your vehicle. Whilst we will always endeavour to ensure this information is accurate, quoted delivery dates are subject to change due to manufacturer production dependency. We will always keep you updated on any changes we become aware of regarding delivery times, however you should be aware that we do not have any control over these factors and as such only ever offer an estimated date.
Price: We will always ensure, as far as is possible, that the price we quote is accurate. However, our finance lenders do amend prices at short notice, and in these situations, we reserve the right to similarly amend our quoted price to you. We will always contact you in these circumstances to seek your consent to continue with your order. If you do not wish to agree to any amended pricing, we will cancel your order at no cost.
Taxation: All new orders will be taken based on the current taxation rates, we have no control over items such as VAT and import duty. If these change then the revised rates will be applied to the order accordingly.
